This class introduces language assistance options for the non-language qualified traveler.  It is designed to help you when visiting foreign countries in the use of interpreters when conducting meetings, briefings, classes, or any type of activity when working with host nation personnel who do not share a common language.  Subjects include:  Use of an interpreter and how to communicate effectively, selection and vetting of interpreters, teaching and briefing techniques utilizing interpreters, and the cultural hazards of using interpreters as intermediaries.
