Introduction to Team Building and Horsemanship (4 day course)

This course is for the person that likes to learn while doing it!  This course is intended to introduce the novice student and the class group to both the basics of riding and handling a horse along with team building.  Subjects covered are team organization, riding saddles and equipment, animal selection and handling, how to saddle an animal properly, and riding techniques and animal maintenance. These basic techniques must be mastered before the student team can move on to any advanced riding courses.  This course is conducted in the field while doing the tasks taught.  You will move and learn in both daylight and nighttime hours moving across moderate terrain and establishing a camp site for 3 nights. Instructors will teach animal handling and riding along with team building exercises to build confidence in both team members and their ability to work together with the animals and each other.
