Instructor Training Course Basic: Phase I
This course is phase II of the Instructor Training series and will focus on the development of specific career skills construction of a Period of Instruction (POI) utilized to train students to successfully accomplish these tasks to support their professional goals utilizing specific career skill factors. This career skills course is the comprehensive core course that trains instructors to deliver career skills focused training to students in the traditional classroom setting and conducted using the concepts of "learning by doing". This ITC is a forty (40) hour course and is conducted over five (5) days designed to teach personnel selected as instructors how to prepare a specific career skill Period of Instruction (POI) and present a quality training session developing these career skills tasks. OGITC emphasizes learning by doing. The course presents specific MOS definitions, terminology, and instructional methods used to present career skills instruction and provide insight into how adults learn and develop as professionals. OGITC also addresses how instructors motivate students and help solve performance problems using positive reinforcement and counseling. Student presentations are also recorded and played back for the student to conduct a self-critique. Through classroom discussions, homework and peer instruction, individuals will learn how to construct a career skills lesson plans, conduct presentations, address questions and reinforce their personal instructor style through conducting daily presentations.
